Card Breach at Target
By now, you may be aware of the recent news report regarding a payment systems breach at Target stores over the last few weeks. The compromise involves in-store transactions only. Online purchases were not affected because a separate payment system was utilized.
If you see a fraudulent charge tied to the use of your
Target Red Card, please contact Target.
Your account security is our priority and Charlotte Metro monitors member account activity for fraudulent transactions. If suspicious activity is detected on your account, you will be contacted. And don't worry; you aren't responsible for fraudulent charges.
The Credit Union is currently conducting an investigation to determine if any Charlotte Metro
members are at risk. If you are ever concerned your card may have been compromised, please visit any of our branch locations to receive a replacement card instantly. If you notice fraudulent activity on your account, visit one of our branch locations to dispute the transaction. Our branch staff will gladly assist you with the necessary paperwork and provide you with a new card.
Target recently announced they would offer free
credit monitoring and identity theft protection for
one year to all guests who shopped their stores
during the dates of the card breach. For
