You probably already use Charlotte Metro's Mobile Banking to access your CMCU Online Banking account. If not, simply download the App to your smart phone for more access to your accounts.

  • With CMCU Mobile Banking open on your phone, select the Mobile Deposit option.
  • Sign the back of the check, just like you would if you came to the credit union or made your deposit at an ATM.
  • Under your signature write "Mobile Deposit" and the date of the deposit.
  • Then, take a picture of the front and back of your check and submit the item for deposit. It's that easy!

And here's the best part - this is another free service from CMCU adding even more value to your banking relationship with us. (Depending on your wireless plan, charges or fees could be imposed by your wireless service provider. Qualifications and restrictions may apply.)

A hold may be placed on a portion of the deposit amount while the check is processed in accordance with Charlotte Metro's standard funds availability policy. A message in CMCU Mobile Banking may appear stating the amount of the deposit that is available. No message? No hold.

After you make your Mobile Check Deposit, keep the original check for sixty (60) days following the date of deposit. Once the timeframe has passed you may destroy the original check.

Here's how it works.

As a Charlotte Metro member, you do not need a PayPal account, but the person receiving the money does. Not to worry - if they don't have one at the time you send a payment, they'll be prompted by PayPal to open an account to receive the money. All you need to use Personal Pay is either the cell phone number or email address of the person to whom you are sending money. That's it! The money is transmitted instantly from your Charlotte Metro account and delivered to the recipient's PayPal account if the email address or phone number used was already linked. If the recipient does not have a PayPal account, or the email address or phone number is not currently linked to a PayPal account, the transaction will be complete once the recipient claims the funds by establishing the PayPal account.

With Person Pay, never worry about having cash for person-to-person payments. Charlotte Metro lets you bank whenever, wherever you need, from the convenience of your mobile device.
